
HENRY T. BOONE'S WILLWritten April 13, 1900I Henry T. Boone of the County of Northampton and the State of North Carolina, being of sound mind but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament. 1. My executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all my funeral expenses, together with all my debts, and of the first moneys which may come into his hands belonging to my estate. 2. I give and devise to my beloved wife Mary Ann Boone all my property real, personal and mixed for her natural life, everything to remain as it now is until her death. 3. After the death of my said wife, I give and devise to my son James W. Boone and his heirs in fee simple, my Starling Boone tract containing forty-seven and one third acres. 4. After the death of my said wife I give and devise to my sons John E. Boone and Samuel D. Boone and their heirs in fee simple all that part of my home tract of land luying on the south side of the Jackson and Creeksville road, containing one hundred and forty acres more or less on which my dwelling house is situated, to be equally devided between them share and share alike including Allen tract. 5. After the death of my said wife I give and devise to my son J.C.Boone and his heirs in fee simple all that part of my home tract of land lying on the north side of the Jackson and Creeksville road containing eighty acres of land more or less, but it is my will and desire that my sons John and Sam shall be permitted to use off this tract of land what cypress timber that they may need for plantation purposes and none other. 6. After the death of my said wife I give and devise to my daughter Mary Ann Julia Bryant the sum of one hundred dollars to her and her heirs forever. 7. After the death of my said wife I give and devise to the children of my deceased daughter Dorothy L. Whitehead the sum of one hundred dollars to be equally devided between them to them and their heirs forever. 8. After the death of my said wife I give and devise to my son H.T. Boone Jr. the sum of one hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever. 9. After the death of my said wife I want all my property not herein disposed of (except two mules I now own which I give and devise to my sons John and Sam ) to be sold by my executor and the proceeds thereof together with what money that may be on hand and not heretofore disposed of to be equally devided among all my children namely Henry T., James W., J.C., Samuel D., John E., Mary Ann Julia and the children of my deceased daughter Dorothy L. Whitehead. 10. I hereby constitute and appoint my son H.T.Boone my executor and my friend S.J. Calvert his attorney to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made.
