Stringfield, of Tennessee We are looking for connections between the families of James Jefferson Stringfield, found in eastern Tennessee, and the families of Richard Stringfield and Ezekiel Stringfield, that are found in northeast Tennessee and western North Carolina; and the Stringfield's of southeastern North Carolina. I've seen turn-of-the-century photographs of members of the W.W.Stringfield family, from Ashville, N.C., and there is little doubt that they are related to my grandfather, a descendant of James Jefferson Stringfield -- the problem is figuring out exactly where !! After 1800, the descendants of Thomas Stringfield and Sarah Williams, originally living at Strawberry Plains, in Jefferson Co, Tenn. spread back into North Carolina and west into Kentucky. The family of James J. Stringfield and Malinda Scarborough lived about 40 miles west, in Morgan County, and spread south and west, to Georgia, Kentucky and Ohio. SEND EMAIL !!!! Descendants of James Jefferson Stringfield James Jefferson appears to be a nephew or grandson of Ezekiel and Rebecca Sorrels Stringfield, but we don't know the parents. He is mentioned in Ezekiel's Bible, but appears born too late to be Ezekiel's son. He is not listed in the heirs for Richard Stringfield, son of Ezekiel, but he buys some of Ezekiel's land from Christine (or Christina) Stringfield about 1866. From about 1807, when the family (Rebecca, Ezekiel's widow) appears in Knox County tax lists, until at least 1910, the family is linked to the Cromwell, Webb, Scarborough, Levi, Hall and Robinson families in Morgan, Knox, Roane, and Anderson counties, in eastern Tennessee.
