Boone Family Fragments in . . . . We have had great difficulty tying immigrant families to specific groups in England. The Boone family that produced Daniel Boone, the Kentucky pioneer, seems to have come from Exeter, in southwest England. Group number 1 on the map.. The Boone family that evolves in South Carolina, appears to be descended from residents of Devon and Somerset, in southwest England. Group number 2 on the map.. New informations suggests that the Boone family that evolved in Virginia and eastern North Carolina may be related to groups in Middlesex County and London, in eastern England. Group number 3 on the map.. There are a number of resources in the UK for tracing surnames, built around the GENUKI system; essentially every (almost!) county (shire) has a genealogy site, in in those sites are surname lists and individuals who are working on them.
