Boone Family Fragments in . . . .

Revised June 1999 !!

As stated earlier, this site is not focused on the family of Daniel Boone the pioneer, but we do recognize that his group was an important North Carolina family. They lived primarily in the western part of the state after 1750, in and around the present-day Mocksville, in Yadkin County. You can see the contrasts between this group and mine. There are many other websites that are focused on this group, and we will simply re-direct you to those sites for more detail on this family.

Sites dealing specifically with Daniel Boone, the pioneer:

The other primary group of Boone families are found in the northeastern part of North Carolina, in early Chowan, Bertie, Northampton, and Halifax Counties, and they appear to spread south and west from there. All of these families may descend from a common ancestor who originally lived in Virginia in the 1660's, or they may come from several different immigrants; there is no clear analysis.

My Thomas Boone represents one of these family groups, living in Northampton County, N.C. by the late 1700's, and where he dies with a large family, much land, and several slaves, in 1800.
